Mino DARUMA

The Daruma doll is a replica of Daruma Daishi dressed in a red robe (scarlet vestments) and sitting in zazen meditation.

As a traditional Japanese good-luck charm, Daruma has become a symbol for prayer and to strengthen the heart. The Daruma doll was made into a "MINO DARUMA MUG™ using the skills of Mino craftsmen.

Water-Repellent Pad Printing
This technique uses a silicone pad to precisely print patterns on curved surfaces such as mugs. Furthermore, the use of water-repellent ink creates a subtle texture on the surface, creating a three-dimensional finish. This decorative method is suitable for mass production and has a long history of use in Mino ware.
