"Kissako" is a Zen Buddhist term. Originally meaning "Go drink tea and wake yourself up," it was used to rebuke someone's laziness. Today, it expresses hospitality, meaning "Please have some tea." It can also refer to the act of drinking tea itself.
The Mino region, blessed with clay deposited in the ancient Lake Tokai approximately 5 million years ago, has sustained a rich pottery tradition dating back approximately 1,300 years. We create vessels by blending inherited techniques with the craftsmanship of skilled artisans, all in gratitude for Mino's clay.
TENGU KILN
Founded in the mid-Meiji period and located in eastern Dachi Town, Gifu Prefecture, this kiln has produced tableware centered on bowls, including Shino and Oribe styles, since its founding. In recent years, it has also begun creating vibrantly colored pieces by utilizing six different types of clay.

「喫茶去（きっさこ）」は禅宗の言葉です。もともとは、「お茶を飲みに行け、お茶を飲んで目を覚まして来い」の意味で、相手の怠情を叱責する言葉でした。現代では「どうぞお茶を飲んでください」という、おもてなしの心を表す言葉として使われています。また、お茶を飲む行為そのものを指すこともあります。
美濃地域は約500万年前の東海湖に堆積した粘土に恵まれて、約1300年前から焼き物の伝統が続く産地です。私たちは、美濃の土に感謝を込めて受け継がれた技術と職人の技を融合させながら器を作っています。
天狗窯
明治中頃創業の窯です。岐阜県駄知町東部に位置し創業当時より、井を中心に志野や織部を始めとした器を作り続けてきました。また昨今では、6種類の土を使い分け、色鮮やかな器づくりを手掛けています。
